Much like wood, each piece of stainless steel has a grain flowing either horizontally or vertically through it. Cleaning with the grain and then buffing is critical to achieving the most thorough clean and premium shine.

1. Identify the grain direction on your stainless steel. Look for faint lines running across the surface — these run either horizontally or vertically. Note: the grain direction may differ between sections of the same appliance, so check each area before wiping

How to Remove Stains and Water Spots from Stainless Steel
